When I went to Korea, someone left my nice bike out in the rain, and it got ruined. I took a look at it the other day to figure out if it could be fixed. Turned out pretty much everything about it was unsalvageable. It was time to get in the market for a new bike.
I got on Craigslist and trawled around. After a lot of boring research, I decided on a Schwinn Sierra that a guy in Symmes Township had, and paid $125 for it. It's a great bike, recently tuned up, runs smooth, everything. The knobby tires dragged slightly more than I was used to, but I was quite content.
Today I went up to the bike shop to trade in a lock I'd bought because it didn't have a bracket to put it on my bike. While I was out front putting on the new one, a car drove up, and a lady asked me if I bought bikes. She needed a little extra money for her electric bill, and she had a spare bike around—her husband's, but he was gone, and would I care to take it off her hands? I took a look. It was actually one of the same bikes I'd been considering when I was trawling Craigslist, a Trek 7500. The gears were a little torn up, but I took it for a spin around the parking lot, and it was an awesome bike. It's a huge one, the biggest size they make, but it freaking zipped, it had no big problems, and the guy who was with the lady told me he could take $30 for it. I knew a good thing when it came up to me out of nowhere with a rural accent, and I decided I'd worry later about how to get two bikes home when I'd ridden up on just one.
I rode the Trek home to get the car with the bike rack, and I think I actually like it more than the Schwinn. Figures, huh? I don't know what I'm going to do with two bikes now. Keep one as a spare? Lend one to Dad or Micah? This is a nice problem to have. Oh, and I looked the Trek up later and that model is selling used for over $200. It's been a good day.

I see your riding the high road. May the road a head be smooth and the wind at your back.
The only sad thing about this is that people were so desperate for money that they sold something for way under its true value. That's too bad. But I'm glad you've got two bikes. Won't hurt. Will you be here Sunday or are you going to WVA? Grandma
Dude.....you have a hot bike. And you just fueled the drug economy. Don't ever open a pawn shop, lol

Is it Catholic hunting season? Did I miss something?
Huh, the spam filter caught the one before that, so I figured it would've caught that one too. Screed deleted.
